  • What is a hosting account?
    Web hosting is an internet service that makes your site accessible through the World Wide Web.  A web host provides space on a server that is used to house websites for clients.

    A VPS is a Virtual Private Server. This is a virtual machine that is sold by a hosting service which runs its own copy of an operating system. Customers of a VPS have high level access and can install any software they wish. A VPS is more like a condo- it isn’t completely private, but user have their own designated space. The overall CPU time and memory are shared by all of the users- but certain portions are always designated for the specific user, creating more flexibility.

    SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. This is a security technology that runs standard on the web, and is used to establish encryption between servers and internet browsers. This is used to keep all data that is passed through private. Used private that is passed through.   • How do I renew a domain?
    Often, your domain registrar will send you notices when it’s time to renew your domain. It’s often as simple as clicking a few buttons. There is usually an option to auto-renew your domain, as well. This is preferred- so that you don’t end up forgetting to renew your domain and it ends up getting snatched by somebody else as soon as it expires!
  • How do I host a domain?
    We generally prefer to host the domains of our clients on our own dedicated web servers. This ensures that certain changes such as PHP updates can be done without error or hassle. Unfortunately, we often find that clients that prefer to host on different hosting sites like GoDaddy don’t tend to get the best technical support or priority. That’s the benefit of being able to host our clients, we can make sure that you get the best service possible.
