Writing for the Local Newspaper

Oct 17, 2022 | From Joe, Newspaper

As we look forward to our company’s 20th anniversary next year, it’s dawned on me that we have a lot of stories to tell. Some of these stories don’t neatly fit into the digital marketing blog we feature here in our newsletter and on our website. The Citizen newspaper has been a long-standing client and the publisher, Cal Beverly, a personal friend. He has graciously offered me the opportunity to provide a weekly column. It is an honor to now be writing for the local newspaper.

I’ve already written two columns and would invite you to read them:

1. WHY I STARTED A SMALL, LOCAL BUSINESS

2. THE CHALLENGES OF DELEGATING TASKS TO OTHERS

The goal is to produce a column that gets published each Tuesday morning. In the upcoming weeks I’ll be sharing very candid and personal stories of leadership, success, failure, and other adventures along the path of small business ownership. Being a small business owner has been one of my greatest joys in life, but it’s also been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. At times, I feel like the center of positive attention and at other times very lonely. If you’re reading this, and you’re a community leader, then you know how I feel. You’re not alone.

Let me know what you think and if there’s any particular topic you’d like to see covered. Feel free to contact me directly with your ideas.
